Support CPHA’s independent voice for public health

This time last year, many of us were bracing for the possibility of a federal government openly opposed to core public health principles. Instead, we entered 2025 with a government that, on paper, should have been aligned with evidence, prevention, and community well-being. What we’ve experienced, however, is something quite different. On issue after issue, public health evidence has struggled to find its place in decision-making.

Throughout this year, CPHA has continued to speak up — clearly, consistently, and independently — even when it has been inconvenient for those in power. We are a small organization with limited resources, but we remain fully committed to advocating for healthy public policy across the country.

We don’t have a team of designers and strategists crafting campaigns. What we do have is a strong sense of responsibility and a long history of using our voice where it matters. In 2025, that meant taking action on issues as varied as alcohol policy, climate-resilient housing, federal interoperability legislation, data privacy and equity, consumption and treatment services, Indigenous child welfare, public health funding, global health commitments, and many other areas that affect the health and well-being of people in Canada.

For an organization of our size, this is a tremendous amount of advocacy work — and we do it because it is needed.

As we look to 2026, we need your support. We don’t offer matching grants, and we won’t send you promotional items you don’t want. What we can offer is our continued independence, our credibility, and our commitment to speak out on the issues that matter most to you and your community.

If you value CPHA’s voice, please consider making a donation this giving season. Your support directly strengthens our ability to advocate for healthier public policy in Canada.

Thank you for standing with us.
