Call for submissions
When is the deadline for submission?
The deadline to submit an abstract, workshop or symposium proposal is Tuesday 5 December before 11:59 pm EST.
When will I know if my abstract is accepted?
Submitters will be notified of abstract selection by 31 January 2018. All communication will be with the presenting author as indicated on the submission.
Do presenters need to register?
Successful presenters must confirm the intent to present by registering before the close of the Early-bird registration on 6 April 2018 to be included in the conference program. Presenters assume all costs related to their attendance at the Conference.
Presenters must register for a minimum of one (1) day. Exhibitor and sponsor passes CANNOT be used by presenters.
How long is an oral presentation?
An oral presentation is 12 minutes followed by a 3-minute discussion period.
Can presenters use slides?
Presenters may use slides. Each session room is equipped with a projector, laptop, screen, podium and microphone. Additional equipment such as flip charts and simultaneous interpretation will be available at the presenter’s expense.
Will presentations be made available to delegates after the conference?
All presentations, including posters will be made available to delegates following the conference. Presenters may request that their presentation not be posted.
When are posters presented?
Presenters will engage with delegates during dedicated poster session on Thursday 31 May from 10:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
What size are the poster boards?
Poster boards are 8’ wide x 4’ tall and Velcro receptive. Velcro will be provided on-site.
What are the design and printing specifications for the posters?
Posters must be designed and printed in a landscape layout. We recommend that your poster be printed no larger than 7.5’ wide x 3.5’ tall. Printed posters will only be on display on Thursday 31 May.
Why will I need to submit an electronic copy of my poster?
This year, we are introducing e-poster pods that will be on display for the entire for the conference. Delegates will be able to scroll through and view all of the submitted electronic posters. All e-poster pods will display in a landscape orientation. Guidelines for the electronic format will be sent to posters presenters upon acceptance.
When does registration open?
Registration opens 21 February 2018.
What food and beverage are provided?
- Tuesday 29 May: Morning coffee, AM and PM nutrition breaks, Lunch
- Wednesday 30 May: Morning coffee, AM and PM nutrition breaks, Lunch
- Thursday 31 May: Morning coffee, Networking reception with poster presenters, Lunch, PM Nutrition break.
Is Public Health 2018 accredited?
We will seek accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Certificates will be issued upon request after completing the evaluation form following the conference.
Will Wi-Fi be available during the conference?
Free Wi-Fi will be provided.
