Infectious Diseases Portal

People and goods move much more freely and quickly around the globe today and this accelerates the spread of infectious diseases. As a result, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases are permanent fixtures on the public health landscape. In fact, more than 30 previously unknown diseases associated with viruses and bacteria have emerged since 1973.

This Infectious Diseases Portal facilitates the dissemination of resources that support the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases for both health professionals and the general public.  There are five focus areas:

Reckitt Benckiser’s “Ounce of Prevention” campaign poster and brochure, created in partnership with the National Center for Infectious Diseases, Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provide useful tips on preventing infectious diseases.
