CPHA, in partnership with Lysol, is reminding Canadians about some easy steps to prevent the spread of certain germs this season. We’re also reminding Canadians to get their flu shot… the best way to protect you and those around you from seasonal influenza.
People and goods move much more freely and quickly around the globe today and this accelerates the spread of infectious diseases. As a result, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases are permanent fixtures on the public health landscape. In fact, more than 30 previously unknown diseases associated with viruses and bacteria have emerged since 1973.
This Infectious Diseases Portal facilitates the dissemination of resources that support the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases for both health professionals and the general public. There are five focus areas:
