Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) – is a national, independent, not-for-profit, voluntary association representing public health in Canada with links to the international public health community. CPHA's members believe in universal and equitable access to the basic conditions which are necessary to achieve health for all Canadians.
Canadian Institute for Health Information – Canadian Population Health Initiative (CIHI-CPHI) – CPHI, a part of CIHI, has as its mission to foster a better understanding of factors that affect the health of individuals and communities, and to contribute to the development of policies that reduce inequities and improve the health and well-being of Canadians.
Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Institute of Population and Public Health (CIHR-IPPH) – IPPH supports research into the complex interactions that determine health, and its application to improve the health of individuals, communities and global populations. IPPH is one of 13 institutes of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. CIHR is Canada’s major federal funding agency for health research. Its objective is to excel, according to internationally accepted standards of scientific excellence, in the creation of new knowledge and its translation into improved health for Canadians, more effective health services and products, and a strengthened Canadian health care system.
GeoConnections – is a national partnership program to evolve and expand the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) – an online resource that provides Canadians with on-demand, inter-jurisdictional access to geographic information (e.g. maps, satellite images). GeoConnections funds the development of web-based geospatial applications to support decision-making in the following areas of interest: public health, public safety, Aboriginal communities, and environment and sustainable development.
Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) – works closely with provinces and territories to keep Canadians healthy and help reduce pressures on the health care system, by focusing on more effective efforts to prevent chronic diseases, like cancer and heart disease, prevent injuries and respond to public health emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks.
Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) – founded in 1949, OPHA is a voluntary, charitable, non-profit association. OPHA is an organization of individuals and Constituent Societies from various sectors and disciplines that have an interest in improving the health of the people of Ontario. The mission of OPHA is to provide leadership on issues affecting the public's health and to strengthen the impact of people who are active in public and community health throughout Ontario.
