Objectives

To promote the development of effective public health law
To promote an understanding of the choice of various legal or policy instruments in public health
To analyse and critically review the use of law to achieve effective public health interventions
To foster inter-professional and inter-sectoral linkages across disciplines (e.g. public health authorities, health practitioners, legal counsel and judiciary, and members of the law enforcement, emergency management and academic community)
To promote an understanding of the legal framework for public health in Canada
