Bosnia & Herzegovina
Through this project CPHA and public health community stakeholders in Bosnia & Herzegovina established in mid-2007 two separate Public Health Associations. The Partnership for Public Health (PPH) is the Public Health Association for the Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Public Health Association of Republika Srpska (PHARS) is the Public Health Association for the Republika Srpska. Both are voluntary membership public health associations with a common goal of improved health for the citizens of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Partnership for Public Health ( Partnerstvo za Javno Zdravlje) was founded in June 2007. PPH is a voluntary, non-governmental, multi-ethnic, non-partisan and non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the role of civil society in public health. Its mandate is to contribute to the development of healthy public policy and effective public health programs and the application of best practices in public health. It intends to develop awareness about public health issues and responses among the general public and health sector professionals and allied health workers, identify and generate evidence on public health issues, and advocate for sound public policy that contributes to improving the public’s health. PPH will focus attention over its initial twelve months of operation on the issue of tobacco control as a public health issue.
