Volunteer Technical Advisors

CPHA has been involved in international public health for 25 years, providing technical assistance to Ministries of Health, Institutes of Public Health, national public health associations and local NGOs and to multilateral agencies in over 80 countries. CPHA’s Global Health Programs (GHP) manages initiatives to build national public health associations and to strengthen public health capacity and primary health care services and systems, with particular attention to communicable disease prevention, mother and child health, immunization, health promotion, occupational health, and tobacco control.

Volunteer Technical Advisors transfer knowledge and skills for “best practices” in public health and organizational capacity building to CPHA’s overseas partners. The assignments usually last from one to three weeks, and focus on specific tasks. CPHA covers travel-related expenses (i.e., economy class return airfare, accommodation, daily meal/incidental expense allowance, visa). Volunteer Technical Advisors provide their time as an in-kind contribution.

Volunteer Technical Advisors opportunities will be posted on this website when they become available.

Internship Positions

The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) may engage post-secondary students for internships supported by their academic institutions or with other institutions/funders that host students in programs related to their academic studies.

Internships become available depending on current project/program activities or other on-going CPHA initiatives, as well as available staff and resources to support the student.

Internships are undertaken by the student on a volunteer basis and the work must be mutually beneficial and agreed upon between CPHA and the student and the academic institution.

Internship positions will be posted here on our web site when they become available.
