Public Health in Canada: Creating and Sustaining Healthy Environments

We are pleased to announce that planning is well underway for CPHA’s 2012 Annual Conference.

For the past few years, we have observed a trend of fewer delegates attending the Sunday night opening plenary and the Wednesday morning sessions. The reasons for the drop in participation at these times are varied:

• Sunday is seen as family time
• A Sunday start for the conference requires weekend travel
• Because Wednesday is a half-day, it is considered “optional”.

After consulting with a cross-section of members and former conference delegates, we have decided that, in 2012, CPHA’s conference dates will be moved to Monday-Thursday. There will be no change in the number of sessions and other associated events will be incorporated into the new conference schedule. Pre-conference sessions will be scheduled for Monday.
